Our Mission
The mission of St. James Health and Healing Ministry is Christ-centered healing
and transformation for the whole person and community--mind, body, and spirit.
Since 2001, Health and Healing has sponsored an annual Health Fair, monthly blood pressure screenings, a parish Health Survey, twice offered the inspirational seminar "Journey Toward Wholeness" taught by Dr. Kenneth Bakken, presented "In Our Voices"--an evening of mental health speakers, "Fitness for Life"--a program of education and exercise, and published Salva Nos--Prayers and Meditations for Health and Healing, which is available in the Cathedral Bookstore.

A Prayer for Healing
You promised to send the Gift-Giver;
Come, Holy Spirit,
and infill us.
You promised to be with us always;
Come, Lord Jesus,
and save us.
You promised to be our Physician;
Come, Abba of light
and transform us.
Compassionate God,
we walk through deep water and fire.
Gift us with you grace;
it is sufficient.
Divine Lover,
we long for your embrace.
Heal us is body, soul, and spirit;
bring us to wholeness.
We pray in the Name of the One
who loves us unconditionally,
Jesus Christ, our Lord;
it shall be so.
